# API Integration

Learn how to integrate Trybit via API to automate payment processing.

**API integration** gives you full control over the payment-acceptance process: automatic invoice creation for each order, automated payouts, retrieving balance and statistics, and payment notifications.

### What you need to get started

To start integrating, you need to create a project in your Trybit dashboard and obtain an API key and Shop ID — this data is needed to configure the interaction between your system and the platform, and to authorize requests.

Project API key — issued in the integration settings. All API requests are signed with this key. Full method documentation is on <https://docs.trybit.com/>, with the reference available at `/api-reference-v2/[endpoint]`.

### How creating an invoice via API works

1. When placing an order, the merchant's side sends a request to create an invoice — with the amount, currency, and additional order data.
2. In response, the API returns a ready-made payment link — show it to the customer (for example, redirect to it or open it in a separate window).
3. The customer pays the invoice via this link.
4. After payment, a [POSTBACK](/integration/postback.md) notification arrives at the project's Notification URL.
5. The invoice status can additionally be checked at any time using the API method, by invoice number (INV).

This scenario is suitable when you need to embed payment acceptance into your own order system without necessarily changing your payment interface — the payment itself happens on the Trybit payment page.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://support.trybit.com/integration/api.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
